The Edith Pearl Bed and Breakfast, named after the innkeeper’s beloved grandmother, is located at 250 West Main Road/ Route 77 in beautiful Little Compton, Rhode Island. This renovated 1840s colonial has a colorful history and is surrounded by 200 acres of preserved and working farmland. The picturesque grounds have ancient, shading maple trees, rolling lawns, perennial gardens, and views of farm, woodland and pond plus peeks of the Sakonnet River. Wrap around decks and a blue stone patio are available for relaxing, reading, and reuniting. Wander the grounds and you will find many places to sit and absorb nature’s beauty.

There are also several first floor public rooms to enjoy. The peaceful Blue Room for reading, tête-à-têtes, TV and DVD viewing; the large, cheerful living room with comfy down sofa, beautiful views, and wood burning fireplace; and of course the charming dining room for scrumptious breakfasts.

Each second floor room has been lovingly appointed with 19th century beds from Leonards New England, beautiful linens, items from the owner’s collection and many special touches including reading lamps, clock radio/CD players and bathrobes. Each queen room, The Princepessa Room with its beautiful tall post bed and The Mermaid Room with a charming canon ball bed, is naturally well lit and has its own sitting area. These share a large, well-appointed showered bath.

The spectacular Pirate Girl’s King Suite is bedded with a rare 1840s Pennsylvania tall post, rope twist bed, a Vera Wang mattress and 600 count Italian linens. This is a high bed accessed by a wooden two-step stool. The bedroom measures 16’x24’ with cathedral ceilings, exposed old beams, French doors that open to beautiful pond and woods views, a gas fireplace, radiant heated floors, ac, a large attached dressing room with a Bird’s Eye Maple Armoire, and a private bath with romantic double shower and claw foot tub that looks out on the seasonal changing of maple leaves.

The Edith Pearl is a PET FRIENDLY, NON-SMOKING B&B, open year round.

Our housedogs Oreo, a Border Collie and HRH Princepessa Cressa, an award winning Portuguese Water Dog are gracious hostesses. They look forward to meeting your non-aggressive, non-destructive, housebroken, clean and pest-free K-9 companions! While our property is not fenced, there are beautiful areas to stroll, play, and relax with your pups (we recommend a leash for dogs without a reliable recall. We can help you with this problem!).
